Someone silently watches the crows in the yard, and no, it isn't the blackbird up in the tree. You'll find her if you have a sharp eye. A cozy old adobe farm house with a carved wooden door, a rusted tin roof, and faded lace curtains in the windows is host to the family of hungry crows. The summer is over; windfall apples lay amongst the spent sunflowers and the dried grasses. A good harvest of pumpkins and chile are evident, and withered corn stalks remain in the yard. One of my whimsical New Mexico fantasies.
